We are excited to offer Rezum Prostate Aqua-ablation to treat symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate, or BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia). Men with BPH may experience urinary symptoms such as frequent daytime and/or nighttime urination, urgent need to urinate, and weak urine flow. In severe cases, men experience incontinence or complete inability to void. Rezum is a quick, effective, minimally invasive procedure to shrink the prostate. There are no incisions, no general anesthesia, and most patients return to regular activities within a few days. The treatment is associated with much lower rates of sexual side effects (ie: retrograde or dry ejaculation) than other BPH treatments, including medications and surgery. Men generally experience a much gentler recovery than they do following other BPH treatments such as Greenlight and TURP. Click here for more information about Rezum. Note that this is not presently covered by OHIP. Contact us if you think you may be interested in Rezum treatment, or ask your family physician to refer you. |
